Under the supervision of the Camp Coordinator, the Day Camp Counselor is responsible for planning, leading, and participating in activities for campers aged 8 to 15 years old. The Day Camp Counselor must follow the safety procedures to ensure the well-being of all campers attending the Day Camp program and all scheduled activities. They must attend Pre-Camp training and orientation sessions (which includes First Aid training) and apply the principles throughout the Day Camp program.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and ensure the safety of campers
• Inform camp coordinator of any issues/ incidents requiring immediate attention.
• Provides liaison between parents and the Camp Coordinator
• Develop positive relationships and maintains a high level of motivation and enthusiasm with the campers
• Ensure that all program areas are clean and safe
• Ensure that any equipment used is correctly stored after every activity
• Complete administrative tasks (i.e.: daily attendance, incident/ accident reports and evaluations)

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 17 years old
• High school diploma
• English speaking, however bilingualism is an asset
• Experience working in a camp or similar setting is an asset
• Basic knowledge of basketball

 

JOB DETAILS:

Seasonal Full-time Contract: June to August (6-8 weeks)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 weeks, 40 hours per weeks

Salary: starting at $17.00/hr
